After helping Inter win the Serie A trophy, Ivan Perisic stayed an extra year at the San Siro side before heading to Tottenham on a free.
The Croatia international was lured to London by Antonio Conte, whom he had already worked with in that title-winning season, and there was hope the two could help bring that drive to Spurs.
It has worked somewhat, although there is still a lot of work left to be done at Tottenham, as they currently sit fifth in the Premier League after 23 games, four points clear of Brighton who have two games in hand.
Still, there’s 15 games left to turn this around and try and get Spurs back in the top four, which would allow them to stay in the Champions League.
Their last game in the European competition came against Milan, which was a 1-0 loss, and Sky Italia sat down with Perisic to discuss his relationship with Conte and his time at Tottenham.
Relayed by FC Inter News, he said: “Everyone knows how he works. He was strong as a player and now he’s strong as a manager. I learned a lot from him. We won the Scudetto, something fantastic that I will never forget. Now we have many games in the Premier League. We will give everything to try and win as many as possible.”
