Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga has admitted he wants to make his move to Sevilla a permanent one this summer.

Mucho Deporte cover comments from the Belgian today in which he admits he’s like to continue at the Spanish club next season after joining on loan from Arsenal this season.

The midfielder moved to Sevilla on loan in the summer, the latest in a series of temporary moves away from Arsenal in recent years. He spent last season on loan at Luton Town and the second half of the 2022/23 season with Crystal Palace.

The deal with Sevilla includes an option for them to make it permanent, but their precarious finances means it is debatable whether they will take up that clause.

Lokonga has been a regular for them this season, featuring in 56% of the available minutes in La Liga so far and featuring in the starting 11 55% of the time to date.

He’ll be hoping to increase those numbers before the end of the season, with the 25-year-old admitting he would like to convince the club to make his move from Arsenal a permanent one.

“I feel very good. I’m growing,” he said.

“I feel better with each game. After leaving Anderlecht, Sevilla is the club where I feel very, very good.

“I want to stay but it’s not just my decision. It’s early days and we’ll see each other at the end of the year.”
