There was a possibility of Christian Eriksen leaving Manchester United in the summer before his agent shut down any talk of an exit.
Ajax were suggested as a potential destination and this interest was confirmed by the club’s sporting director Alex Kroes, who had revealed that the Dutch side couldn’t create enough space in the squad to land the Dane.
Eriksen has been a bit-part player for Manchester United so far this season and has now made it clear that he wants to play regularly and that is his only goal.
At the end of a chat with TipsBladet following Denmark’s UEFA Nations League game against Switzerland and his substitution in the match, Eriksen was asked about that.
Tipsbladet say he had a twinkle in his eye as he said: “I want to play more! I want to play something more.”
On his form and how he can potentially improve. He said he’s feeling quite good from a physical perspective.
“I just think that the last thing is missing. I think there were a couple of times where I could have done a little better in one way or another. But the body is fine, and there are no flaws.”
That extra aspect will need games to get right, and Eriksen seems to be aware of that. However, it’s going to continue to be difficult at Manchester United.
With games set to come thick and fast after the international game and beyond, he’ll hope for more minutes in the coming months.
