Leeds United target Giovanni Troupee has told the Dutch media he wants to get some game time.

The youngster has seen himself out of the team this season, and subsequently he’s been linked with a move to the Championship side this week.

Speaking to FCUpdate.nl Trouppe was asked about his situation with the Dutch side and the interest from Leeds United: “I can’t answer that question, the only thing I can say is that I want to play football, I hope that this is possible at Utrecht.”

The FC Utrecht website take that as the player committing himself, but it doesn’t really sound like that to us. If a footballer is speaking to a fan website of his own club and leaves a move potentially open then that tells a very clear story.

Earlier this week we covered reports from the Dutch media that Leeds United, along with Sampdoria, Hellas Verona and Benevento are showing an interest in the 19 year old

All three clubs would be looking to bring in Trouppe on a loan for the remainder of the season, but there were no reports of a right of redemption.

With Luke Ayling out for the rest of the season Leeds United could be in the market for a right back, and Trouppe is an option.
