With Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez being the man of the moment once again, the Argentina media continues to highlight the 29-year-old’s success.

The player has now given an interview to Sebastian Fernandez, a streamer who’s part of Sergio Aguero’s Esports team. There, he revealed his passion for games, and of course talked a little about football as well.

First speaking of his hobby, having even shown his computer, Martinez named some of his favourite titles.

“I always liked the gaming world. As a boy in Mar del Plata we played ball every day and at night I’d play Playstation, Sega or Nintendo,” Martinez told Sebastian Fernandez (via Infobae).

“Even today I play Mario Kart with my son and with a group of friends from Argentina, we play Call of Duty every night.”

Martinez talked about his long path to what he considers to be his success.

Once again, he talked about how young he was when he moved to Arsenal, and explains that his strong mindset is what allowed him to get where he is today.

“I could spend three hours counting everything I experienced. Basically what got me where I am today is my head. Always be focused whether playing or not. I knew I was going to make it. I’m passionate about football, I loved what I did.

“I left young to help my family, which was my priority, and my phrase was always: I don’t want to come back as a failure from Arsenal. I didn’t know if I had the talent to be Arsenal’s No. 1 at 16, but later I started to believe it based on work, because I’m crazy about working, wanting to improve.”

Now despite claiming he’s already achieved some of his dreams, Martinez claims he continues to work on being ‘the best’.

“My dream was to debut in the national team. I never dreamed of winning a Copa America or World Cup. When I made my debut against Chile, my 6-year-old dream had come true, which was to be number one in the National Team and play an official match. That’s why many guys say what I have to do to achieve it.”

“Even if they push you and hit you down, show them that the one who pushed you is going to fall, because you’re going to go over the top. I did that year after year and I want to continue doing it. I want to be the best of all and I know that I can achieve it and I am achieving it step by step, year after year.”

Emi Martinez and Aston Villa now prepare to face Tottenham in London on Sunday. Then the goalkeeper is joining Argentina’s squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers fixtures.
