Arsenal loanee Mohamed Elneny has spoken to Turkish newspaper Sabah about his future and his relationship with Mesut Ozil.
The Egypt international is currently on loan with the Super Lig side after failing out of favour at the Emirates.
Speaking about Ozil, Elneny said at first he thought Ozil would be arrogant given he’d played for Real Madrid, but was surprised to see what a great person he is: “When I first joined Arsenal, I thought Ozil would be arrogant. Because he played for Real Madrid and he was a star there. But he really surprised me.
“He’s a great person and a great friend of mine. He’s always kind to other people around him. He’s very respectful. You can’t find these kinds of things in today’s footballers.”
Elneny added about his future: “I am totally committed to Besiktas’ success this season. I don’t know what the future holds, but I made a decision not to speak about my future until the end of the season.”
There have been recent reports Besiktas want to make the midfielder’s move permanent, but they could be priced out of deal due to their financial situation.
The Black Eagles could also face competition from AC Milan after his father claimed the Serie A side are interested.
It seems he is surplus to requirements at Arsenal and will have a decision to make over his future this summer.
