Brighton and Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo has admitted he would have thought about a move to Manchester United if it had been on offer this summer.

The youngster has established himself as one of the stars of the show since he returned from a loan spell with Beerschot in January this year.

His performances in the heart of Brighton’s midfield have not gone unnoticed, with several Premier League clubs thought to be keen on his signature already.

Manchester United are one of them, with several reports throughout the summer suggesting they could make a move as they sought out a new midfielder.

That didn’t happen but the links are nothing new as Manchester United were believed to be one of the interested parties before his £4.5m move from Independiente in February 2021.

There was nothing formal this summer despite reports, but the Brighton midfielder admits he would have seriously considered it had a switch to Old Trafford been on offer.

“I saw rumours and things like that, but I was working on my team,” he told Ole.

“I didn’t want anything to take me away from my work, I let my agent handle everything. I was very calm, focused only on Brighton and I didn’t know if there were other proposals or not.

“I was just working on my team to play good games. If there was any proposal, I would have thought about it a lot, but I am very happy here at Brighton and doing very well, already adapted to the team.

“Now I just want to be here, keep getting more minutes, play in the World Cup and then we’ll see what happens.”
