Over the past few months, you’ve probably seen the name Krépin Diatta floating around, as Manchester United have been scouting the Senegal U20 international.

Currently plying his trade in Norway, the 18-year-old forward enjoyed himself in his first half-season in Europe, scoring eight goals and picking up eight assists in 27 games, and with the season now over, a transfer is definitely on the cards.

When Manchester United links first surfaced, a move to Old Trafford was said to be ‘a dream’ for the player.

Speaking to VG in Norway, the Red Devils target suggested he’s now ready to make a step in the right direction.

He said: “I think about a transfer, a lot. There’s a special motivation for me this season, because I need to be good to go to the World Cup. I followed the national team, and I dream of joining them. It’s a big dream.

“I think the best thing for me is to find something other than Saprsborg. I had a good season here, I scored goals, was crucial and voted best young player. I did what I had to do. If now there’s an opportunity to join a new and big club, it’ll be a window for me to get to the World Cup.”

However, as the comments suggest, there’s little chance of the youngster ending up at Manchester United if first-team football is his priority.

After all, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku already at the club, time on the pitch would be very limited for the youngster.

In fact, he’s already got his mind set on where he’d like to go next.

Explaining that if he had to choose, he’d go to Ligue 1, Diatta also revealed he watches Kylian Mbappé every weekend, seeing France as the ideal stepping stone for his career.

All we know is, if Manchester United are already scouting him now, a move to France, one of the Premier League’s favourite shopping centres, will only help his chances of one day getting a move to Old Trafford.
