Tottenham youngster Bryan Gil has shared his delight with how things are going on loan at Valencia.
The forward joined the Spanish side on loan in the January transfer window, having found himself out of the picture under Antonio Conte.
He had arrived at Tottenham from Sevilla last summer as part of the deal that saw Erik Lamela go the other way but struggled to adapt to life in England under Nuno Espirito Santo or Conte.
That led Valencia to make their move for him in January, offering the regular playing time that wasn’t on offer in London.
He’s been a big hit back in Spain, establishing himself as a key player under Jose Bordalas with a series of impressive performances.
They are keen to keep him beyond the summer, although it remains to be seen if Tottenham will sanction any kind of deal after his loan spell in the second half of this campaign.
Gil has regularly hinted he would be more than happy to stay and admits this loan deal has given him exactly what he wanted.
“I was in England, I was at home, and my agent called me and told me about the proposal from here in Valencia,” he told La Liga.
“Obviously, I had to consult with the people who wanted me. They were so serious that they also wanted me to have that continuity.
“Here they have given it to me, and I am very happy; I’m happy that I came here and accepted the offer. I think it’s what I wanted.
“I think that here I would have the opportunity to play, obviously once you come to the club, you have to earn it. It’s true that I also know teammates like Carlos Soler and Jose Gaya. I think that also helps when it comes to coming here.”
