Tottenham Hotspur forward Vincent Janssen has told the Turkish media signing for Fenerbahce will be a great opportunity for him.

This morning it was reported in Turkey that Fenerbahce have an agreement in principle to sign the Tottenham player on loan for the season.

Hurriyet have reported on comments Janssen made to Turkish reporters as he touched down in Istanbul: “I’m very happy. I wanted to come here as soon as the opportunity came. I think it’s a great opportunity for me.”

Tottenham have been trying to offload Janssen, and after the signing of Fernando Llorente last week it was apparent the Dutchman was surplus to requirements with the Premier League side.

This week it was confirmed Janssen would be excluded from Tottenham’s Champions League squad, but with the Turkish window still open he still has the opportunity to sign for Fenerbahce before today’s deadline.

Janssen will now hold further talks to finalise the deal, and his personal terms, before his move to Fenerbahce is made official.
