Earlier this week, claims from the UK had stated Napoli star Victor Osimhen is the priority striker target for Chelsea. It was also said he was open to making a switch to the west London club.

The Nigeria international’s immediate focus is on the Naples club’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday. To preview the tie, journalist Ana Quiles was a guest on Televomero’s Il Bello del Calcio.

Quiles has also talked about the possibility of the 24-year-old moving to Chelsea in January and her comments are relayed by CalcioNapoli24.

According to the journalist, Aurelio De Laurentiis made a mistake by not cashing in on the former Lille man’s sale in the past. She has urged the Napoli chairman to not repeat it, if the Blues were to table a lucrative offer for him in the winter market.

“Osimhen away in January? ADL has already missed a great opportunity to let the Nigerian leave for important sums, it would be the second time if Chelsea’s pharaonic offer arrives in January. I don’t know if he’s replaceable, but I think he could go if there’s an offer,” he said.

Osimhen was instrumental in helping the Serie A side win the title last season, managing 31 goals and five assists. This season, he has scored six goals and two assists from 11 games.

The frontman has a deal until 2025 and Napoli have been reportedly trying to extend that contract.
