The Colombian media is obviously giving big coverage to James Rodriguez’s move from Real Madrid to Everton.
Local outlets are pretty excited that the midfielder is moving to the Premier League, meeting Carlo Ancelotti again and playing alongside national team defender Yerry Mina.
But there’s also some people who don’t agree with the transfer, and Colombian legend Faustino Asprilla is one of them.
Interviewed by Blu Radio today, the former Newcastle United striker claimed that he doesn’t understand James Rodriguez’s decision to sign for the Toffees.
“Those decisions by James: he didn’t want to stay at Bayern because it’s very cold, he returns to Real Madrid to suck the bench and ends up in Liverpool,” Faustino Asprilla told Blu Radio.
“I think it is colder in Liverpool than in Munich itself. I really don’t understand it.”
Reports from the Spanish media believe that Everton are signing James Rodriguez for a fee of €25m. He’s expected to sign a three-year deal with the Toffees, making €4.5m per season.
The Colombian star is thought to be having his medical with the Premier League side today, so it shouldn’t take very long until he officially becomes an Everton player, and makes Faustino Asprilla mad about it.
