With the Brazilian media looking for Serbian players who could offer some danger in the World Cup tonight, Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic is expected to be one of them.
Scoring nine goals in 12 appearances for the Whites this season, the striker has been in good form in the Premier League and should be a threat for Tite’s side.
To know more about Mitrovic, Globo Esporte featured an interview with his Fulham teammate Andreas Pereira. And the midfielder had a lot of good things to say about the striker.
“I only have praise for him. Mitrovic is a sensational guy, he welcomed me very well at the club. I spoke to him after the last game against Manchester United, wishing him luck in the World Cup. He is an exemplary guy, fine person. I’m sure Brazil will have a hard time stopping him,” Andreas Pereira told Globo Esporte.
“He likes Brazilians, speaks Portuguese, speaks not only to me, but to Willian, to Carlos Vinicius. He and Milinkovic-Savic are very nice people.
“The guys know how to suffer. It is a physically very strong team. Brazil cannot fool around, thinking that Serbia is just any other team, because I think it can be a very difficult team to beat.”
Like Pereira said, Fulham have three Brazilian players in their squad, but none of them really stood a chance of going to the World Cup this year.
The midfielder himself, who was eligible to play for Brazil or Belgium, was only called up once in 2018 and has never returned to the national team. Willian played at two World Cups, in 2014 and 2018, but wasn’t in the fight for a place in the squad this time. And Carlos Vinícius was never given a chance for his international debut.
