Over the past week or so, Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for Juventus’ Lloyd Kelly.

The defender joined the Old Lady permanently from Newcastle United after an initial loan spell, despite not having particularly impressed during his six-month stay in Turin. Juventus had an obligation to buy, something which they may regret.

As Juve prepare to start their Club World Cup campaign, Kelly spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport and was directly asked about interest from Crystal Palace.

He made it clear that he is happy and settled at Juventus.

“Crystal Palace’s interest? I am 100% focused on the Bianconeri and would like to stay for a long time in this great club.

“I am getting to know a culture and a way of playing different to England, the history of Serie A is full of great defenders – a truly beautiful experience.”

Speaking further, the versatile centre-back said that he is ready to play at the Club World Cup and lead an injury-stricken Juve backline.

“We are ready for the World Cup. I personally feel good in Italy and at Juventus.”

The Englishman has pretty much ruled out a move to Crystal Palace and that may come as a blow to the Eagles. Although it’s worth pointing out that if Juventus want to get rid of the player they’ll make it very clear he’s unwelcome regardless of his intentions otherwise.
