Marcus Thuram is ready to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer, with Manchester United and PSG said to be in the picture to sign him.
The player spoke today to the website of the Bundesliga side, and his quotes (via Bild) make it clear he’s emotional about his exit.
“For me personally, the past four years have been fantastic. I came here as a young player and I’ve developed tremendously. It was outstanding to compete in the Champions League with Borussia and to play our way into the national team through good performances.
“I owe this club a lot and I will never forget what they have done for me. Borussia will always have a special place in my heart.”
Covering the quotes, Bild makes sure to talk about the ‘top European clubs’ who are interested in signing Thuram this summer.
They claim that AC Milan, Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain are sides who have him ‘on their list’, although it’s not yet clear whether any of them are closer to landing him.
Featuring for the Bundesliga side this season, Thuram has 16 goals and six assists in 30 appearances. His contract is now expiring and that opens up many possibilities.
Manchester United’s links with him have been ongoing since the start of the season, and in March, it was the Italian media who said the Red Devils are one of the main competitors for the signing, as they made contact with the striker’s staff.
With him becoming a free agent, however, there should be a lot going on until he takes a final decision in the summer.
