Benfica manager Roger Schmidt has insisted he has nothing to say regarding the speculation linking him with Chelsea.
The Blues have spent the end of this week seeking a new manager after deciding to sack Thomas Tuchel following the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
They moved quickly to hire Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter as the German’s replacement, with him confirmed as Chelsea’s new manager yesterday.
Before that, though, there had been the usual slew of speculation regarding who may replace Tuchel in Stamford Bridge hotseat.
Benfica manager Roger Schmidt was one of them, with it believed Chelsea owner Todd Boehly held various conversations with agents regarding managers working around Europe.
Ultimately the move didn’t come off as he’s elected to go with Potter but that’s not stopped Schmidt from being asked about the speculation today, to which he gave a short and to the point response.
“I have said it here many times that I am very happy to be at Benfica, so I have no space in my head for anything other than Benfica, I have nothing to say,” O Jogo report him saying.
