Christian Eriksen has enjoyed a good start at Manchester United after joining them as a free agent in the summer window.
The Denmark international is yet to score his first goal for the Red Devils but has two assists to his name from six matches this season.
He’ll have wanted to take his good Manchester United form to the national team, and the midfielder scored for Denmark on Thursday. However, his country suffered a 2-1 defeat against Croatia at the Stadion Maksimir.
Erik ten Hag’s man has now detailed why he had mixed feelings after the UEFA Nations League tie yesterday.
Speaking to Denmark’s TV2, relayed by Tipsbladet, the 30-year-old said: “Bitter, I think. I actually think that we have a relatively even match.
“In the first half we are fine and create enough opportunities compared to them – and then they score at a bad time, so it’s a bit of a mixed feeling during the match.”
Despite scoring a stunning goal in Maksimir, the Manchester United player was honest in admitting he was at fault on several occasions in Denmark’s latest loss against Croatia.
“Personally, I make a lot of mistakes, which means that they come into play in some dangerous situations. So, it’s the little things that make us not good enough,” the former Tottenham star explained.
