Manchester City defender Eric García has confirmed he will be leaving the club in the summer but failed to comment on a potential move to Barcelona.
García has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad since last summer, when Barcelona were keen to sign him as he entered the final year of his deal.
That never happened as they could not agree on an asking price with Manchester City, but the centre back has continued to be linked regardless.
It looked extremely likely that a low price move to the Nou Camp would happen in the January transfer window, but the move was blocked again when the presidential candidates refused to veto the transfer.
A move remained likely in the summer, with the player available on a free transfer after turning down new contract offers from Manchester City to return to his boyhood club.
He has now confirmed he will be leaving the Etihad club, but what happens beyond that point remains to be seen.
“I made the decision (to not renew) at the time, what I will do later I do not know, now I am focused, on City and the national team,” he told Sport.
“(My future) is carried out by my representative; I am focused on this season, there is a last third where everything has to be played and now the three games with the national team.
“We also have the Euro Cup in summer, and I must be prepared in case the coach counts on me.
“The people involved knew about it, and my relationship with Pep is the same as before the decision was made. I have a contract, and I am focused on City in case the manager thinks it is convenient that I should play.
“I was at Barça for nine years; in the end, I made the decision to go to Manchester, but I do have this feeling.
“I don’t worry because there is a lot at stake, and I focus on what I can control, which is training one hundred percent. My representative, and when the season is over, he will tell me.”
