Dexter Lembikisa today completed a loan move from Wolves to Swiss club Yverdon Sport.
The club finished ninth out of 12 teams in the Swiss Super League last season. They’re currently eighth after six games so we’ll count that as some kind of progress.
Yverdon Sport have presented the Wolves player to their fans, and they certainly talk up the 20-year-old.
Wolves’ own statement didn’t mention anything about an option to buy, indeed it sounded very much like it was a move arranged for the player’s development.
However, Yverdon Sport say on their official website that ‘he is loaned with an option to buy’, although no figures are attached to that option in the report.
Lembikisa himself sounds very much up for the battle and is quoted as saying: “I arrive here at Yverdon Sport with the firm desire to continue my development, gain experience… and above all win. I love winning! On the field, I like one-on-ones, I like to face up to the opponent.”
The right-back, who was born in London, has 10 caps for the Jamaica national side, and him being a full international is helping build the hype at Yverdon Sport.
He’s expected to be available to the club for their next match, against FC Lausanne-Sport.
