When Everton decided to spend a lot of money on Moise Kean from Juventus, there was hope the young forward could make the most of his talent in England.

The amount spent suggested the Toffees would play him often, but Carlo Ancelotti never seemed fully convinced by his compatriot, and game time was hard to come by.

He has since returned to Juventus, who loaned him for two years before buying him back permanently, and the 23-year-old gave an interview to Corriere dello Sport on Friday, where he discussed his spell at Everton.

He said: “At Everton, there was [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin, who was breathing goals that year, and Richarlison. There was very little space. The Premier League is the most beautiful league in the world, the most difficult. I was 19, I have little to blame myself for.”

During his time at Everton, the Italy international only managed to score four goals in 39 appearances, which is a stark contrast to the successful season he had on loan at Paris Saint-Germain, where he found the back of the net 17 times in 41 games.

Despite some early struggles this season, Kean has found some form again under Max Allegri, and has seven goals to his name in 34 games.
