Over the course of the January transfer window, there were a few articles linking Tottenham to Jean-Clair Todibo, currently at OGC Nice.

Some of those even came after the signing of Radu Dragusin, suggesting Spurs want at least one more centre-back in their squad next season.

There have been links to Riccardo Calafiori, but it’s unlikely Tottenham will have completely forgotten Todibo, who spoke to Canal+, relayed by Maxifoot, about the interest he received last month.

He said: “There were quite a few approaches this winter. I heard some names of clubs, but I wasn’t really focused on them. I need to concentrate on what I’m doing and on what’s concrete. The concrete thing for me right now is Nice. If I have to leave this summer, I’d like to leave with something big. Managing a Champions League qualification and leaving would be a real thrill.”

Therefore, it appears the Tottenham target is certainly open to a transfer in the next window, but whoever wants him will have to deal with OGC Nice.

Some will point to Manchester United, also in need of help at the back, and their INEOS links as favourites to get the player, but a lot will also likely depend on whether the clubs wanting him have Champions League football on offer.

That’s something Tottenham are still fighting for, currently fifth in the table, five points off Aston Villa but with a game in hand, potentially bringing that gap down to two points.
