It’s been a while since Everton star Richarlison seriously got into the rivalry between Brazil and Argentina.
With regular provocation on social media, the forward ended up becoming a character in this war of words, which even worked to reawaken the old-style rivalry between the national teams.
That’s why Argentine players, fans and media ended up joining forces to frequently have a go at him, especially following their Copa America title last year.
Now it turns out that Richarlison is the type of guy who’s doing it for fun, as he never took the jokes too seriously. That’s why he ended up giving a few interviews to the Buenos Aires media, and last night, he was invited to speak to the local ESPN.
Even though most of the chat was about international football, there was also a little time for him to talk about European clubs. He revealed his admiration for Messi, and was also asked about another Argentine player he admires.
“I think Aguero. Because I followed the English league a lot, so I followed Manchester City a lot too and I saw that goal he scored in the final minutes here that took the Premier League title,” Richarlison told ESPN Argentina.
Then asked about which is the best club in the world right now, Richarlison said something that could bring back an old rumour. Following all those stories saying Carlo Ancelotti wanted to take him to Real Madrid, his answer was pointed out to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I go with Real Madrid. Best team in the world. Vinicius Junior is having a great time, Benzema too. And Ancelotti. Ancelotti trained me here, I know the person he is, I know the coach he is. I know what he is capable of with the Real Madrid team.”
