French newspaper L’Equipe have picked up some words Grzegorz Krychowiak has shared during the international break in Poland, which may explain his failure at PSG.

Krychowiak was much wanted when at Sevilla and that he went to PSG surprised some, largely because it was hard to see how the French club needed him.

The Polish midfielder looked more like a club buy than a managerial one, and with Unai Emery remaining in his position this season, Krychowiak’s loan to West Brom made some sense for all involved.

Krychowiak has claimed Emery asked him to play ‘like Sergio Busquets’ and that set alarm bells off for the now West Brom player.

L’Equipe quote the Polish international as saying: “I immediately realised that I wasn’t the right player.”

With a big motivation this season to prove that Emery got it all wrong, West Brom will hope to benefit from that over the course of the season.

But Krychowiak replicating his Sevilla form could mean he looks away from West Brom at the end of the current campaign.
