Oliver Glasner would be a perfect fit for Bayern Munich, if they decide to continue their pursuit of the Crystal Palace manager.
That’s according to Sebastian Rode, who has backed the Austrian to succeed Thomas Tuchel and explained why he’s an ideal fit.
Glasner found himself the surprise target for Bayern Munich this week, with the German giants making an €18m offer to Crystal Palace to hire him as Tuchel’s successor this summer.
That was swiftly rejected by Crystal Palace, though, who have no desire to part with Glasner after thoroughly enjoying life under him since he replaced Roy Hodgson earlier this year.
They are believed to have quoted Bayern a €100m sum for their manager, which, unless those in charge at Munich decide to do something completely crazy, ended things.
Glasner is the latest in a growing list of names to have been ruled out for Bayern this summer as they scramble around the market looking, and regularly failing, to find a replacement for Tuchel, who is set to depart in the summer.
Glasner, though, would be an ideal fit, at least according to Rode, who made 67 appearances under him during his time in charge at Eintracht Frankfurt.
“Of course, I would trust Oliver Glasner to be able to coach FC Bayern too. He is hungry for success, is good at motivating his players and adapting them to the opponents,” he said.
“You saw that here in Frankfurt, especially in the successful Europa League season, and you can see that now at Crystal Palace, where he has already celebrated some important victories. That’s why I could imagine that for him.”
