Nottingham Forest midfielder Cafu has admitted he would make a return to Portugal, but his focus is fully on the Cherries at this moment in time.
The Portuguese midfielder initially joined Nottingham Forest in October 2020 from Olympiacos and has made 48 appearances for the club since that point.
He’s been a semi-regular since then, including this season, in which he has made 16 appearances so far but only managed 454 minutes in total.
His appearances largely come from the substitutes bench, with him managing just one start in the league this year.
That would presumably come as something of a disappointment for the midfielder given how well they’re doing this year, with Steve Cooper’s side fighting for a place in the playoffs and reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals.
It seems, though, he’s more than happy with his current situation and isn’t thinking about a move away from the City Ground.
“A return (to Portugal) is possible, obviously, but right now, I am focused on Nottingham Forest and the goals of the club with whom I have a contract and where I am happy,” he told O Jogo.
“The season is going well. In the FA Cup, we were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Liverpool after having eliminated Arsenal, Leicester and Huddersfield.
“It was a very beautiful journey. Now we are in the fight for the play-off to get into the Premier League.
“The Championship is crazy, and it will be a fight to the end. I am really enjoying this experience, and so is the family. We have been all over Europe a bit, and now we are very happy in England.”
