New Brighton and Hove Albion signing Facundo Buonanotte has revealed how he’s already spoken to teammate Alexis Mac Allister about the move and received tips from Carlos Tevez about life in the Premier League.
The youngster completed a move from Rosario Central yesterday following months of speculation regarding Brighton’s interest.
They had been close to a deal in the summer before Rosario pulled out, with their president bowing to fan demands to stop it happening.
However, Brighton persisted, sending emissaries to Argentina to finalise a move once the transfer window had closed.
Rosario announced it yesterday, with Buonanotte moving in a €12m deal and set to link up with the Seagulls in January.
He will find plenty of South Americans at the club, with them having become something of a breeding ground for talent from the continent over the last few years.
Compatriot Alexis Mac Allister is one of them, and Buonanotte revealed he’s already spoken to him, and his former coach Carlos Tevez, about the transfer.
“The truth is that I am very happy for this big step that I have taken in my career,” he told La Red.
“He (Tevez) told me a little bit about it and gave me some notes. It was a nice memory that he was the coach, I value him very much.
“Obviously he was a great player and everything he tells you has to be listened to. It made me very happy that he was there and talked to me.
“Alexis (Mac Allister) sent me a message and welcome me, so I am very happy and very grateful for that.
“You have to realise that not all leagues are the same. Today I have obviously listened to everything that the coaching staff tell me, and I respect their instructions, but I am not going to stop doing my own thing and I will always do what I want to do and what I like.”
