Crysencio Summerville has revealed he had doubts over joining Leeds United.

The winger came up through the ranks of Feyenoord’s youth system and left them to join Leeds in 2020.

The former Leeds man has been speaking to Voetbal International about his career so far and his comments are relayed by 1908.nl.

Summerville spent four seasons at Elland Road, managing 25 goals and 12 assists from 89 games.

This includes 21 goals and 10 assists from last season and his impressive performances for the Championship side helped him make a switch to West Ham United in the summer window.

The 23-year-old’s decision to leave the Dutch club for the Championship side has clearly worked out well for him. He was initially nervous about taking this step but is now glad he pushed himself, and explained how this move has benefited him.

“It was a very big decision to go to England. In the beginning I had my doubts, but then you go anyway. When I look back, I am very grateful for all the lessons and the ups and downs. That made me the person who I am now,” he said.

The ex-Leeds attacker has also thanked his family for supporting him when things weren’t going well, especially at the Eredivisie side’s academy.

“My family has always motivated me to continue. It was not always easy in my youth. We were not well off, my parents had to work hard,” Summerville explained.

“That is why I feel blessed that I can support them thanks to my talent. Every now and then they visit my matches. Then they stay for a weekend, and They will go home again on Monday. If I have time, I will go back to the Netherlands.”

Daniel Farke’s side reportedly collected in excess of £25m from the Dutchman’s sale to West Ham in August.
