Mundo Deportivo have a big dollop of stirring in their Thursday newspaper, suggesting Pedro regrets leaving Barcelona for Chelsea.

Pedro was very keen to leave Barcelona in the summer 2015 transfer window, and the club certainly didn’t push him out.

It had been reported for some weeks that he was on the verge of a move to Manchester United, but hesitating from Old Trafford allowed Chelsea to move in and get a deal done.

The 30 year old recently returned to the Camp Nou as Chelsea faced Barcelona in the Champions League, and Mundo Deportivo believe they know some things Pedro said to his former teammates.

Pedro, according to the Catalan newspaper, ‘confessed’ to his former teammates “What I would give to be in this locker room”, and also said “What I would give to be here”.

Mundo Deportivo say Pedro has a special relationship with both Barcelona as a city and Barca as a club and whilst he isn’t unhappy in London, the inference is that Chelsea can never really be that special for him.

It’s too late now and it’s unlikely Barcelona will come knocking for a return.
