Following all the stories on Monday claiming Brighton & Hove Albion were making an attempt for the signing of Libertad youngster Julio Enciso, the national team didn’t give him a break and chose him to give a press conference today.
A potential transfer to the Seagulls was, of course, mentioned by the Paraguayan media, and despite being happy with the rumour, the 18-year-old chose not to talk much about it.
“I feel very proud that a team is interested in me, now I am very focused on the national team,” said Enciso (via D10).
Even though Brighton’s offer for Enciso was one of the main topics in the Paraguay sports media on Monday, they haven’t brought any updates on the situation today.
It’s been claimed that Brighton are putting US$10m (£7.5m) on the table to sign the striker, and the clubs are believed to be discussing the percentage of a future move.
The offer was confirmed by Libertad president Ruben Di Tore, even though he also made it clear that more clubs are interested in the player, and there’s no hurry to pick one of the options now.
