Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini has insisted he is not focusing on the rumours linking him with a move to Manchester City.
The centre-back has been a regular since moving up to the Atalanta first team last season, establishing himself in the heart of their defence.
His performances have reportedly not gone unnoticed with a report in September making it clear that he had caught Manchester City’s eye.
That was followed up by a report earlier this week that stated Manchester City were among the ‘foreign’ suitors emerging for the defensive talent, who is valued at €20m.
That made it clear Atalanta aren’t keen on selling the 18-year-old but there is a risk as he is only contracted until 2023, which could force them to sell next summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
The issue is one that’s likely to develop in the coming months, but the player insists he is not listening to the building noise.
“It’s not me who reads this news, my friends usually tell me,” he told L’Eco di Bergamo, relayed by Milan News.
“Actually, I don’t think about it, I only have Atalanta in mind, and I want to do well with this jersey.
“In ten years? I don’t know yet, but I hope to have reached a high level, even with Atalanta”.
