Back in February, there were many reports from the European media claiming Chelsea are interested in the signing of Real Madrid defender Eder Militão.
It was claimed the Blues have been meeting the player’s staff and would have new meetings for ‘further discussions’.
Still, in an update from journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, it was claimed Chelsea would have a big challenge to convince the player, as his ‘main priority’ would be to sign a new deal with Real Madrid and spend many more years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
This information is now confirmed by Militão himself. The 24-year-old this week had an interview with TNT Sports, and when quizzed about his future, confirmed his strong wish of staying at the La Liga side.
“I want to build, yes, a beautiful story here at Real Madrid. I don’t think about leaving, I don’t think about anything. I only think about making history at Real Madrid. Leave a beautiful legacy. I hope to make a brilliant career here, I don’t think about leaving,” Militão told TNT Sports.
“Beautiful city, best club in the world, I don’t want to leave.”
Even though TNT Sports’ video doesn’t show the reporter asking specifically about Chelsea, they do include the Blues’ name in their headline, as if Militão was turning down the chances of a move to the Stamford Bridge.
The Brazil international has a running contract with Real Madrid until 2025.
