New RB Leipzig signing Josko Gvardiol has revealed his desire to make a move to Liverpool at some point in his career.
The Croatian defender is set to join RB Leipzig this summer, with them having agreed on a deal with his current side Dinamo Zagreb earlier this year.
He will arrive at the German club to replace both Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konaté, who have joined Bayern Munich and Liverpool, respectively.
It means he is likely to be given his chance to impress from the off with the Bundesliga outfit, who have an established history of developing young players like him.
Indeed, if he follows the same path as the aforementioned Upamecano and Konaté, it won’t be long before he is being linked with a move to the Premier League.
A move to England was already in the offing in the last year, with Leeds United having battled hard against Leipzig for his signature.
If he were to rock up in the Premier League, though, there is only one club he is interested in.
“Liverpool,” he told 24 Sata when asked about his favourite foreign club.
“Since I was a little boy, my dad and I watched Liverpool matches, and I grew up with only them.
“When I took football more seriously, I started following them, and I definitely want the Premier League and Liverpool.”
