When Marcel Brands was appointed as Everton’s director of football, some changes took place.
Among the casualties following his arrival was, according to an article by the Liverpool Echo, Carlo Jacomuzzi, who had been appointed by Steve Walsh to be the club’s scout in Italy.
Often interviewed in his home country, the talent spotter was a good source of insight about what was going on behind the scenes at the Toffees, and yet despite his exit, he’s still happy to give his former side some advice.
Of course, it is now in a more informal role, but Jacomuzzi was recently interviewed by CalcioNapoli24 TV, relayed by Napoli Magazine, who asked him about the recurring rumours that Everton could be on the market for Alex Meret.
He said: “I would definitely recommend him to the club. He’s young, and can still grow a lot. He needs to play continuously, which has not always happened. He can improve further. There’s a need to give him confidence”.
This comes the same day as an article from Gazzetta dello Sport, which stated the player was currently listening to offers, fully set on moving should his situation stay the same.
On top of that, it was made clear Carlo Ancelotti wants him at Goodison Park, and while Jacomuzzi doesn’t advise the Italian manager anymore, perhaps he’ll come across his advice somehow.
