West Ham United target Youssef En-Nesyri has revealed he trained with Chelsea earlier in his career but couldn’t handle the cold in England.
En-Nesyri was heavily linked with a move to West Ham throughout the January transfer window, with it believed the Hammers would go as high as €40m for him.
A move did not end up happening, with Sevilla instead electing to resist any offers and try to get more for the striker in the summer.
West Ham are expected to be back in the picture at that point, particularly if they have extra money to spend from qualifying for the Champions League.
Indeed, the competition is likely to be fierce, with ABC Sevilla reporting that as many as three sports directors from ‘important clubs in the Premier League’ have asked about the striker and whether he would be willing to play in England.
Whether he would be at this stage of his career isn’t known, but he was certainly against it earlier after a miserable experience with Chelsea.
“I went to Chelsea and stayed there for three weeks,” ABC report him saying.
“It was very cold, and I went back to Morocco; I couldn’t take it anymore.
“I went back to the Mohammed VI Academy, and we played some games against Sevilla, Málaga and Almería. That’s when Málaga saw me, and they decided to sign me.”
