Over the past week or so, there has been an increasing amount of talk regarding a potential transfer of Jordan Veretout to Tottenham.
The idea stems from the fact Antonio Conte and Tanguy Ndombélé have fallen out, with the Frenchman expected to leave in some shape or form in January, and from the Italian manager already being a fan of the player when he was at Inter.
The former Aston Villa man has been a very important player under José Mourinho this season, but some have suggested he could be on his way out regardless, with Tottenham ready to welcome him.
The rumours evolved into a potential swap between Ndombélé and Veretout, but this has all been dismissed, quite categorically we have to say, by the player’s agent, Mario Giuffredi.
Speaking to Calciomercato.it, he said: “A swap Ndombélé-Veretout? I categorically deny. He will stay at Roma at least until the end of the season”.
That seems to potentially open the door to a move in the summer, but it would be interesting to see if the player, who didn’t exactly shine in his Premier League spell at Aston Villa, would be prepared to return to England after impressing for a few years in Italy.
