Back towards the end of May, a report emerged claiming Udinese were intent on keeping Ken Sema beyond the current season.
The Swedish winger arrived on loan from Watford for the 2019-20 campaign, and quickly became an important part of the Serie A side’s plans, making 22 appearances in the league and scoring two goals.
TuttoUdinese explained Udinese wanted to turn his loan deal into a permanent one, but with no reported purchase to buy in the original move, it seems new negotiations would be needed.
As we all know, those are likely to go smoothly considering the Pozzo family owns both clubs, yet Sema is still unsure what his future holds for the time being.
Speaking to Il Gazzettino, relayed by Mondo Udinese, the forward was asked if he liked being in the Italian town.
He replied: “Very much so, and I’m happy here. I like playing in Italy, at Udinese and developing my qualities. At the moment, I’m very happy here, but I can’t say where I’ll be next season. I’m very pleased with the season done so far, but this is the time to think about the next games, then we’ll decide what to do with the club”.
If that is the case, and Nigel Pearson doesn’t want to bring Sema back to work with him, then we don’t see why the 26-year-old wouldn’t be allowed to stay in Udine.
Following his transfer from Östersunds FK back in July 2018, the winger had made 22 appearances for Watford in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting another three.
