Bastian Schweinsteiger certainly isn’t lacking support in his native Germany, as he continues to be ostracised by Jose Mourinho.

Several people from the midfielder’s former club Bayern Munich have spoken out in support of Schweinsteiger, and there’s even been talk of a possible return and some sort of coaching role in the future.

Schweinsteiger has retired from international football and that should help keep him fitter for any new club, but there doesn’t seem to be an awful lot happening with regards to a transfer, despite Mourinho pushing for it.

Whenever a senior Bayern Munich player is interviewed at the moment, they’re asked about Schweinsteiger’s situation with Mourinho, and the latest man put on the spot is Manuel Neuer.

Speaking to German newspaper Die Welt, Neuer explained: “I cannot understand that. Basti is a super player and an important with a lot of experience, which is very important for the team. I cannot understand this decision.”
