Earlier this week, we covered a suggestion from Brazil saying Vitor Pereira could be Wolverhampton Wanderers’ new manager.
The Portuguese coach is currently working at Corinthians, where he has a contract until the end of the year. However, due to the desire from his family and staff, it’s been said he could return to Europe soon.
It was Band host Neto who claimed Pereira won’t be staying at the Timão, pointing out that a couple of Premier League clubs were without a manager. Those were Aston Villa, who recently signed Unai Emery, and Wolves.
Following all the noise this rumour made, especially because of the exit from Corinthians, ESPN Brasil contacted the manager to learn his version of the story. It turns out his response was pretty neutral.
“At this time, I cannot confirm or deny the information,” Vitor Pereira told ESPN Brasil.
Vitor Pereira’s contract with Corinthians only expires at the end of December, but since the Brazilian season is set to end in a couple of weeks, before the World Cup break, it wouldn’t be strange to see the club letting him go before that.
The Portuguese manager was one of the first options reported once Wolves sacked Bruno Lage in early October.
