Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi should be a candidate for the Napoli job if they decide to replace Luciano Spalletti.
That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Biasin, who says he would recommend the Italian to Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis if it came to that.
Spalletti has been linked with a departure from Napoli throughout this week, with claims in Italy that his relationship with De Laurentiis has deteriorated despite their recent Serie A title success.
As is to be expected, a whole host of names are already being linked with the position and Brighton’s De Zerbi is one of them.
He’s been impressing hugely with the Seagulls this season, building on the work done by his predecessor Graham Potter to implement a bold, attacking style of play that has Brighton competing for a place in the top six.
His stock is high at this moment in time, with fans, pundits and players alike praising the work he has done in the Premier League this season.
Biasin is one of those who has been impressed by what he’s seen and insists he would recommend the Italian to Napoli if given the opportunity.
“De Zerbi? Roberto, I would always recommend him to everyone,” he said.
“He’s a great coach and he’s also proving it in the Premier League at Brighton. He has very clear ideas, he has great management skills.
“I would recommend him to Napoli, but by now his dimension is the Premier League, the most important league in the world.”
