Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sasa Kalajdzic has admitted he is hurting after his latest injury set back.
The striker joined Wolves from Stuttgart in a £16.2m deal in the summer after years of being linked with a move to the Premier League.
The move to Molineux was seen as his chance to prove himself on a bigger level after impressing in Germany despite injury issues.
He’ll have to wait for his chance to do so, though, having torn the cruciate ligament in his left knee in his first game for Wolves against Southampton at the beginning of September.
That will see him miss the majority of the season, something he has unfortunately become accustomed to during his career.
He missed 606 days for his first club FC Admira Wacker with various injuries, including a metatarsal fracture and a torn ligament.
His problems continued at Stuttgart, where injuries such as another cruciate ligament rupture, Coronavirus and a shoulder injury saw him spend 471 days out of action.
He would have hoped that those days were behind him, but it seems that is not the case, although he is holding out for a positive future.
“It hurts. Unfortunately, I’ve had to experience too many times what it’s like when you can’t play,” he told Servus TV, relayed by Stuttgarter Nachrichten.
“But I have no choice but to get up and fight my way back. That worked well the other times.
“I am doing well under the circumstances. I had the surgery a few days after the game. The course is very positive, we are all very happy.
“I have the hope to maybe get a few more minutes towards the end of the season.”
