On August 27th, we covered claims from Portugal which stated Leeds United are keen on Mohamed El Bachir Belloumi.
Now it would appear Hull City are trying to get in there before the Whites.
Leeds United were presented as one of the latest clubs to show interest in the 22-year-old. He currently plays for Farense and has a contract with the Liga Portugal club lasting until June 2027.
Belloumi has played all of Farense’s three Liga Portugal games so far this season, and during the last campaign he made 35 appearances, scoring seven goals and contributing five assists.
Nearly all of those appearances came on the right wing.
Leeds United interest wasn’t presented as urgent, and it looked like a situation the Championship club could revisit ahead of a future window.
However, Portuguese newspaper Record now report Hull City are in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign the attacker. They want to sign him on a permanent transfer and are in a rush to secure him before the deadline closes tonight.
Whether that will prompt Leeds United into action is unclear.
Record don’t reveal any figures relating to the potential Hull City transfer at this point.
