Liverpool loanee Lazar Markovic is reportedly very close to having his spell at Sporting CP cut short. According to reports from Portugal, the player should be heading to Italy before the end of the month.
Both Record and O Jogo agree that it’s very likely he’s moving to Sampdoria, rather than Hull. Sporting are said to be in advanced negotiations with Liverpool so they can break the one-season contract.
Record mentions that Hull City are aware of the player’s situation, as reported by the English media this weekend, but they make clear that the Serie A club are really winning the race.
As reported by the same newspaper on Friday, Sporting are unhappy with Markovic’s form and don’t want him in the squad for the rest of the season. They were afraid that sending him back to Liverpool now would mean a fine, but maybe a friendly negotiation to loan him to other club could avoid that.
