In the past few days, reports have been claiming there’s a Turkish race for the signing of Okay Yokuşlu from West Bromwich Albion.
Stories from the local media first claimed that Trabzonspor are interested in the player, and it was then said that Galatasaray want the 30-year-old as well.
Journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu now brings an update on Yokuşlu’s situation and claims that Hull City want to sign him from West Brom as well.
The report is made on X (formerly Twitter), and there aren’t any details on how advanced the talks for the move are right now.
Since reports had claimed that the negotiations between the Turkish clubs and West Brom were in the early stages, it does sound like Hull City have a chance to get well positioned in this race if they wish to do so.
Yokuşlu’s contract with the Baggies expires next year, and he’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €3m.
It’s very likely that there’ll be a little auction for his signing, and even though Hull City may have the power to win that battle should it come to it, we’ll need to see if the player would favour a return to his home country instead.
