Senegalese defender Lamine Sane has been tipped to leave Bordeaux this summer, with just one year left on his contract.
Reports in the English media have suggested Hull City are in advanced talks to sign Sane, and these claims have been confirmed by their French counterparts.
According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Sane is in contact will Hull City over a possible move to the Premier League during the current transfer window.
L’Equipe have kept it quite brief, and there is no mention of the transfer fee, wages, etc.
The defender has been linked with several clubs in recent weeks, and an exit was always on the cards. In January, Aston Villa were strongly linked with the player, and a transfer was expected by many.
Bordeaux pulled him out of a match against Lorient, with L’Equipe saying at the time it was because a transfer was on the horizon and they didn’t want him to get injured, or to be so distracted that his performance would hinder rather than help the team.
Sane was said to be positive about a transfer to Aston Villa and L’Equipe said he didn’t ‘hide his desire’ for the move.
Aston Villa hit problems because they wanted a straight loan, and Bordeaux wanted any loan to have have a clause meaning it would automatically turn into a permanent deal.
