Hull City are keen on signing Boavista’s Róbert Boženík this summer, according to a report from Portugal.

The Primeira Liga side initially took the striker on loan from Feyenoord in 2022 and made his stay permanent a year later. He managed 11 goals and two assists from 34 games in all competitions last season.

Maisfutebol say Hull City ‘insist on signing’ the 24-year-old to bolster their attack for the new season.

The Championship side have already taken further steps and made an official offer of €4.5m including bonuses for the Slovakia international. Boavista have accepted the bid tabled by the Tigers and the player needs convincing to get the deal over the line.

Boženík isn’t convinced about joining a second division English club, but the report states Hull City ‘continue negotiations’, with an aim to convince the frontman.

His deal lasts until 2026 and Maisfutebol claim the player’s desire is to join a top division club in Italy or Spain, if he decides to leave Boavista.

Hellas Verona have shown interest in the player but aren’t willing to meet the financial demands to secure his services.
