Hull City are making an attempt to sign Calum Chambers from Aston Villa, according to reports.
This information curiously comes from the Turkish media, where journalist Yagiz Sabuncouglu is the one to reveal the Tigers’ attempt.
On Twitter, he claims that Hull City have ‘officially stepped in’ for the Aston Villa player by making an official offer.
For now, there’s no information whether the offer is for a loan or a permanent deal, or regarding how much money is on the table.
With no Turkish clubs going after Chambers, the reason why the information comes from Istanbul is their attention towards Hull City owner Acun Ilica, who’s a celebrity in his country and often talks to the Turkish media.
Chambers has been struggling to get playing time at Aston Villa this season. He’s only had 178 minutes in three matches, and all of them were in the UEFA Conference League.
That’s why it wouldn’t be a surprise if Hull City get to sign him on loan until the end of the season. His contract with the Villa Park side still runs until 2025.
