L’Equipe continue their PSG Champions League post mortem on Thursday, again seemingly genuinely shocked the club have once again failed to beat better opposition.

The exit from European competition almost certainly brings with it the summer exit of manager Unai Emery and now the search is on for his replacement.

On Wednesday, Le Parisien reported Antonio Conte has been moved to the top of the priority list, and the Chelsea manager takes the front page of L’Equipe today.

PSG are said to have contacted Conte’s brother and whilst there’s nothing concrete yet, the file leading to Chelsea’s manager is thickening.

The Italian national job is said to also be a temptation for Conte, but L’Equipe point out more than once that PSG pay more, and they obviously say the Chelsea manager would have a good chance of winning the Champions League.

Conte’s abrasive style and requirement of his squad to work super-hard is referenced, and it’s accepted that could cause an issue with Neymar at some point, meaning the Italian would perhaps also be set for a short stint if he takes the job in Paris.

That PSG are having to consider Neymar’s power, and the way he may react to a new manager, probably shows there’s more issues at the French club than simply Unai Emery.
