A week ago, we carried a report from Bild, who explained that Arsenal have made contact over signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jesper Lindstrøm in the winter market.

It was also said the Denmark international’s asking price of below €20m would be easy for the Gunners to handle.

Operating mainly as an attacking midfielder, the 22-year-old can also be deployed on both wings. He has three goals form 10 games this season for the Bundesliga side.

Lindstrøm was quizzed about the reports linking him to Arsenal and he did not hesitate to express his delight over this.

“It’s a huge confidence boost. It’s one of the biggest things as a footballer, so I’m obviously very happy,” he said, quoted by Tipsbladet.

The Europa League winner also revealed he has come across the reports linking him to Mikel Arteta’s side but made it clear that he has not heard from Arsenal over a possible transfer in January.

“It is hard not to read along when articles appear on your Facebook, Instagram and other social media. So of course, I read it, but I don’t take it too seriously. The transfer window is not open at all right now, so I’m just giving it my all and waiting to see what happens,” the Dane explained.

“It’s always great to play in the biggest league in the world, but whether Arsenal is right for me is hard to say. Right now, I’m in a good place in Frankfurt, but it’s great that there are clubs like them that are watching me. Something may have to happen at some point, but right now I’m fine.”

The player was part of the Denmark squad for this month’s international break and came off the bench in his country’s 2-0 win over France in the UEFA Nations League.
