A month ago, we’ve seen Chilean newspaper La Tercera featuring a story claiming Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte would work on the signing of Arturo Vidal from Inter Milan.

At that time, it was claimed the midfielder had his ‘bags ready’ to leave the Nerazzurri, and his dream of playing in the Premier League could be fulfilled by reuniting with the Italian manager in London.

La Tercera now features an update on the situation. As they bring a piece on Inter Milan’s upcoming Champions League clash against Liverpool, they also point out this could be his last European match for the Serie A side.

“The midfielder will not continue at the Italian club, a decision he has already made. He also knows that now, against Liverpool, it is the only option he has left to win the tournament. Because he has very few chances to return to a big like Bayern or Barcelona,” a source close to Vidal told La Tercera.

Then speaking of potential destinations, the first named by La Tercera is Tottenham and they recall that Antonio Conte has already spoken to Vidal’s entourage to know the conditions of a potential transfer.

There’s also, however, some competition from Galatasaray, as that source close to Vidal pointed out the Turkish side are willing to make a heavy investment in that signing.

“The Turks are willing to pay even more than Vidal earns today at Inter. The player is in that dilemma today, since the Turkish club is not going through a good sporting moment. He then he will have to choose between the football project or a millionaire salary.”
