Out of contract at Huddersfield Town in June, Jonas Lössl didn’t hide the fact he wouldn’t be renewing with Jan Siewert’s side, preferring to try his hand elsewhere if he could.

Clubs like Marseille and Monaco were after the Danish goalkeeper, rumours which the player himself addressed, yet it appears nothing has come from them.

In fact, Foot Mercato in France claim Lössl will instead be signing for Everton, where he will act as cover for Jordan Pickford.

The website explain 30-year-old will agree to sign with the Toffees ‘in the coming days’, but must first go through the traditional medical, which is expected to happen today.

The expectation is for the Huddersfield goalkeeper to sign for ‘at least two seasons’ at Goodison Park, where he will undoubtedly be asked to challenge for a starting spot, hopefully pushing Pickford to develop even more in the near future.

Healthy competition and all that.
